The mage can has a fairly decent strenght/dexterity limit, so he can deliver/evade decently.ĭecent != high enough to be able to beat Blood/Dark Knights. Plus, there are very few monsters with immunity to all magics, and even then you can always cast a firewall, have the monster stand on it, and bash it mercilessly with Griswold's Edge. I'd imagine in such a situation he'd get absolutely hammered since his melee skills are sorely lacking. I really wouldn't want to play as the Mage as most of the high level monsters have magic resistance/immunity. But there's that pesky mana limit (what was it? 60, 80 points?) and that severly cripples the benefit of mana shield+ whatever offensive spell (my favs were chain lightning and fireball, BTW). He can still get mana shield and chain lighting and 0wn everyone, but he doesn't have the early-on difficulties that the mage does. It had the same sprite as the rogue and it only showed two weapons, tho) very enjoyable. I even played Hellfire and found both the monk and the bard( hidden character wou could wield two weapons. Rogue and fighter are almost as fun, and they certainly have as much variety as the sorcerer. I Definitely agree with the general concensus here. Sorry View image: /infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif.
